Beginning A Business

When beginning a new business it is important to get some good training and education under your belt to begin with. There are lots of ways to do this you can seek out training or you can get the training from hands on experience. Whatever way you decide it is important to remember that not everyone is going to do things the same way and that there is no wrong way to begin as long as you do begin your journey.

This blog isn’t going to point out the practical tips of starting a business. If you need those tips please email me and let me know. I have some excellent teachers to put you in contact with. No, this blog is going to explore more the attitude of a business beginner and how one needs to be.

Basics: Ironically, I just got done telling you that this blog is not going to be about the practical steps one needs to take to start a business. However, when starting at the beginning one does need Do-You-Have-What-It-Takes-to-Start-a-Businessto get the basics learned so there is some understanding of how to do business. Now, it really is up to the individual on what you think you need help with when it comes to the basics. But you have heard the saying of you don’t know what you don’t know.  This is stage of a beginner when it comes to business. At least get some classes, a coach anything to help you continue to learn.

Bold: Now, is the time to be bold and to strike out on your adventure. If you are planning to own your own business you have to be bold and audacious to a certain point. There will be so many people telling you that failure and ruination is your future. You are going to have to believe in yourself and become your own cheerleader and not pay any attention to the naysayers. One piece of advice is to weed out the people in your life who don’t believe in you or your dream. You won’t last long if you don’t have people who are positive and can help support the dream you have of owning your own business.

Brash: You are going to have to be a little wreckless, going out on a limb every once in a while. If you aren’t willing to take some chances then you might not want to own your own business. Every day business owners have to have a little swag in their attitude to make it through the many decisions and challenges that they face.

Successful business owners will tell you that you need to get the basics so you can do business. Be bold and believe in yourself enough to drown out the voices of the negativity that can surround you. Have a little bit of a brash undertone about yourself and your business. After all, you are a business owner and you are awesome. Not many people believe in themselves enough to do what you are doing

I love the 3 Bs — especially Bold and Brash, which are the hardest for me. I think I might just put those words up in front of me so I don’t forget. Thank you.

  2. I like the idea of being bold, taking risks. And risks are not just financial. Being bold for me means doing trying out work that I would not normally do, going out of my comfort zone a little bit. It means trying something that I always wanted to do but was concerned I didn’t have all the skills I needed (of course I have to make sure I take a caluculated risk then, and find ways and means of learning what I need to get the job done).

I like how you think Damaria. In our business our risks do need to be calculated because we do have to take care of our customers and back up what we say. But its always good to stretch ourselves.

So true! The basics are so important to building your business and having a mentor or coach can be so helpful. That way they can point you in the right direction. I know my coach has been priceless. Love your “bold” too. It’s that confidence that helps so much.
    Thanks! Diana Ennen

I agree with you Diana. My coaches, mentors, teachers have been so important to me and the growth of my business. In the beginning I couldn’t afford it. It wasn’t until later that I realized how expensive it was to go with out that help.
