Content and Your Social Media

www.srsvirtualassistant.coHave you ever asked yourself why you have a blog or social media? Is it because everyone else has one and you just thought it was what was expected out of you and now you really don’t know what to do with it? Or it seemed to be such a good idea in the beginning but now it’s difficult to come up with things to put on it.

When creating content for your social media you can help solve problems that your community may have. Engage them; ask their opinions about different things that deal with their business. Pictures speak 1000 words so share pictures that are inspirational business quotes or just a picture that spoke to you. A great way to define content is to make content creation fun not a J-O-B! Be the “go to” place for your community and make yourself the expert. You do that by writing and creating the things you know about in your field and just build upon that content upon content.

If you are still having trouble with creating content create a content chart/schedule. Decide upon the days that you want to blog I recommend 2-3 days on average. With social media I recommend three times a day at least. In my content I try to educate, entertain and inspire. Some good places to get ideas for your content are 1. Google tools, 2 online resources, 3. offline resources, 4. social platforms, 5. other people’s content, 6. repurpose your own content, 7. quotes.

Share what you do to create content for your blog or social media. Is it easy or hard for you to keep up with the content creation?

  1. Great advice…
I use a calendar- but only so that I can move the various posts that exist in my queue around to optimize the best readership days for various topics.

I try to be semi organised, but often client work overtakes me! I share content that hopefully is helpful to others trying to navigate online marketing, with a focus on local. I also make use of other people’s content too.
