Exciting News About Becoming a Virtual Assistant

Confessions of a newbie VA headerI have some exciting news to share with you. My business has grown so much in the last year that I had to hire my first employee. She was hired to help me in all areas of my business. This was not an easy decision to make. Number one just trusting someone enough to bring them into your business is a scary situation to be in. Now I know what all my clients feel in the beginning of our relationship. Secondly, this hire involved family. Jen is my sister and we all know what can happen when you mix business and family. We had a good discussion before she started working for me and we laid down some rules. Kids come first. Jen, is the mom to four awesome kids. Three of them are young and her first priority are her kids. Second, we only talk business during business hours and then we talk family off business hours. It helps to keep the two separated.

But back to the exciting news. Jen and I came up with a fun project that we want to share with you. It’s called Confessions of a newbie VA. We are going to be having monthly Google hangout where Jen is going to share different pieces of her journey of being a newbie virtual assistant. She is going to share the good and the bad of her experiences. And then she is also willing to answer questions and give you help if you are thinking of gaining more knowledge of the assistant world.

We realize times are tight and people have been downsized, and experienced cutbacks with their jobs. Owning your own business or working for someone else in the virtual assistant world is a great way to become employed again.

Jen and I both know people who have been effected with this tough job market. That is why we decided to offer this free monthly resource to learn more about the virtual assistant world. Our first Google hangout will be May 20th at 1 p.m. EDT. If you are interested in learning more you can Click hereĀ  to sign up to attend the Google hangout.

We hope to see you there.

  2. What a great idea Shawn. I look forward to seeing your business grow :) I’ve been thinking about working with my mum and we’ve discussed the ground rules if we decide to do so. It’s exciting though, and if you have a strong relationship in the first place and understand each other then you’re on to a winner!

    Good luck with it all.
