Writing Beginner’s Guides – Do you remember when companies used to write white papers? Although they are still effective, the new versions of them are “beginner’s guides”.

These guides vary in length, but the one thing they have in common is that they are thorough. By writing good content not only will you get a ton of traffic, but you’ll also get a lot of links which will get the name of your company out there.

This is a very popular thing to do on a blog as exchange for a person’s name and email; they receive a guide explaining something that is of importance to them. A couple of things you want to make sure to do when making these guides is to use a header and footer bar and put  the name of your company and contact information in these places.

Another way to use these beginner guides is to establish yourself as the expert in the field that you are writing about, offering these as a great resource for new people in that field. For example, I have a beginner’s guide called the Super Simple WordPress for Beginner’s Guide and I have screen shots, step by step instructions along with contact information if the person needs more help. Feel free to take a look at it here.

So what is stopping you from creating your first beginner’s guide to help market your business?

I just looked at your page Kim and love it. I grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana so I have a love affair with horses. Put together some of your blogs and you could have a couple of guides ready very quickly. Good luck!
